The Wedding!
We’re getting married at Kossow Lodge in Raymond, Maine just off of Route 85. The wedding is at 1PM on Sunday, June 13th, 2010.
Reception to follow immediately afterwards.
This shindig is happening outside, rain or shine. Dress is garden-party formal.
Tracy and I are getting married at Kossow Lodge on beautiful Crescent Lake in Southern Maine. We’ve asked a number of you to come spend the week with us in the lodge from Saturday to Saturday, June 12 - June 19, 2010. We’ll be there the whole week, and we hope you will too. Get all the info!
GETTING TO THE LODGE
Kossow Lane, Raymond, ME 04071
Kossow Lodge is easy to get to, provided you’re already in Portland. But that’s the first key step: get yourself to Portland. From Portland, take exit 6B off of I-295 to head out Forest Avenue (RT 302W). Continue on 302 W until you get to Raymond Center (20 miles from I-295). Make a right on to RT 85, and head out approximately 6 miles. Kossow Lane is on the right, about 1/4 mile past the Kokatosi Camp Ground. Kossow Lodge is at the end of Kossow Lane.
AIRPORTS/FLIGHTS
The lodge is about 30 miles from the Portland Airport (PWM). This is definitely the best airport to fly into. If, however, you can’t get a reasonable flight into Portland, you can always try Manchester, NH (90 minutes) or Boston, MA (2 hrs away).
RENTAL CARS
Rental cars are available at all airports. If you fly into Boston, you can get a bus direct from the airport to Portland, where you can also rent a car. Don’t worry, though: there will be plenty of people who can pick you up and get you to the lodge if you don’t feel you need to rent a car for the week.
Putting a check in the box and dropping an envelope is hard work! Skip all that brow-moistening labor and commit to the party right here. Be sure to tell us who’s coming, and give us an idea of what days you’ll be at the lodge!
Maine is an enchanted place to be in the summer. Kossow Lodge is in the Sebago Lake region, approximately 30 miles from Portland, a small but fun city with tons of great dining, seven breweries, four lighthouses, and a booming art community. Oh, and there’s an ocean.
An hour west of the lodge is North Conway, NH, a beautiful outlet town (and setting for the play, Our Town) nestled in the white mountains. Nearby is the famous Mt. Washington. There is tons of great hiking here.
Not far from Portland (or the lodge) is Freeport, Maine, which is home to L.L. Bean and a lot of higher-end outlet stores.
Whether you want to kayak in the ocean, go whale watching, head north to Acadia National Park, do some hiking in the Presidential Range, or simply take in some shopping and great dining, there are a million things to do, and they’re all nearby! Let us know what you want to do, and we’ll find it for you.
